Women’s Golf Enters Final Round Of MAAC Championship Tied For Third

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Through two rounds of play at the 2014 MAAC Golf Championship at Disney’s Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., the University at Albany women’s golf team is tied for third-place in the standings with a score of 675.

The Great Danes are knotted with Quinnipiac and just two strokes behind Fairfield (673). With a 31-stroke advantage, Siena leads the seven-school field with a score of 642.

Individually, junior Victoria Choi is tied for fourth-place amidst 35 competing athletes.  Choi shot a 78 in round two and has a combined score of 164 heading into the final day. She is just one stroke behind third-place, while Siena’s Kylie Strijek controls first with a 153.

Freshman Rosalee Hearns is tied for 12th with a 168, Sam Schuffenecker is tied for 14th with a 169, while Paige Fujihara (175) and Lisa Agoglia (177) round out UAlbany’s competitors.

Sunday’s final round will begin at 7:40 a.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN3 starting at 10:00 a.m.
