Former UAlbany WBB Standout Keyana Williams Rejoins Team as Director of Operations
ALBANY, N.Y. – Former UAlbany women’s basketball player Keyana Williams has returned to the program to serve as the team’s director of operations this season.
“It is very exciting, I have never truly left this program since 2009,” said Williams. “It is an honor to work for a team that I player for and a university I graduated from.”
“We are extremely excited that Keyana Williams has decided to come back to our Great Dane family,” said UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. “She has been an integral part of taking our women’s basketball program to a culture of winning. Keyana is a great natural leader and someone who knows the everyday operations of our program, and her energy and excitement are going to help us greatly in our community.”
Williams played for the Great Danes from 2009-13, helping UAlbany to its first pair of America East championships. In her four years with the team, she shot 40.1% from the field, scoring 344 points and 398 rebounds, starting as a senior and contributing to the program’s first perfect conference season in 2012-13.
Since earning her undergraduate degree in 2013, Williams served as a promotions and marketing coordinator for the UAlbany athletics department. She will earn her Master’s Degree in secondary education in December.
