Chelsea Martin Joins UAlbany WBB as Graduate Assistant Manager
ALBANY, N.Y. – Chelsea Martin, a former standout at the Sage Colleges, joins the UAlbany women’s basketball program as a graduate assistant manager.
“I am thrilled to be here and be part of a strong, successful program,” said Martin. “I am looking forward to working and learning here.”
The past two years, Martin served as a women’s basketball operations intern for UAlbany. She has previously served as a camp counselor for Siena College and Schooled in Hoops.
“We are extremely excited that Chelsea Martin will be joining our women’s basketball family,” said UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson. “She is the perfect final touch to complete our staff. Being familiar with our program was a valuable asset in terms of who we hired for this position. We love her work ethic and we are excited she will continue being a part of our team.”
Martin played for the Sage Colleges from 2010 to 2014, graduating cum laude with a 3.66 GPA in business administration with a concentration in sport management.
A two-time captain, the six-foot forward finished fifth in program history with 535 rebounds and third with 62 blocks, earning 701 points and 130 steals. In the 2013-14 season, she led the Gators to a 17-10 record, the most amount of wins in a season in program history, and the Skyline Conference championship with a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Martin takes over the role previously served by Isoken Uzamere, who was promoted to assistant coach in May.
