Durham Wildcats of British Basketball League Sign Former Great Dane Center John Puk
DURHAM, ENGLAND – The Durham Wildcats of the British Basketball League (BBL) announced Tuesday that UAlbany Division I career blocks leader John Puk has signed a professional basketball contract to play in the United Kingdom.
Puk told the Wildcats, “I am very excited to play in the BBL as I have heard only good things about the league. It’s refreshing to start playing in a different competition and I can’t wait to get started with my new club.”
The 6-10 center graduated in May from UAlbany as the program’s Division I leader in career blocks with 112. He helped lead the Great Danes to two NCAA Tournament appearances in his four years, and was named to the America East All-Defensive team as a senior. Puk made 132 career appearances and 98 starts for Will Brown.
