Crossfade LP Over-the-Ear Headphones

Fusing art with music, the V-Moda Crossfade LP is sure to excite the fashion spirit within and impress those around with its design and performance. The solid plastic housing catches the eye with a glossy shine and a metal “V” synonymous with the V-Moda brand. If the Phantom Chrome doesn’t match your days wear, it also comes in Gunmetal Black and a sleek White Pearl. Although these are constructed primarily of plastic, the light weight makes them ideal for comfort even after long use. The soft leather material complemented with the foam around the cans makes for minimal sound leakage as well as comfort. Likewise, the cans completely envelope your ears contributing to additional sound isolation while limiting leakage. Unfortunately, the headband did fit a little tight but not enough to cause much discomfort.

The Crossfade LP features 2 audio cables, the first being a standard 69” for music/media listening while the second has a 3 button remote and microphone. The remote can be used to control sound, playback, and similar functions. Likewise, the microphone in works with the remote can answer/end calls, voice record, etc (see list below to see if your iPod model is compatible). The sound quality when talking/receiving calls was what I expected with the price, a little drowned but an overall fair rating. As far as the audio quality when playing music, the Crossfade LP’s have a great performance with a heavy bass. The driver’s diaphragm promises a high range and deep lows which I found to be accurate. The bass is pretty powerful and in some situations distorted the not so discernable treble. These headphones shined best with techno house music and similar tracks, what V-Moda is geared towards. Lastly, I don’t want to fail to mention the included case with the headphones. The case is great and really made this a complete package, with a molded structure and straps to secure audio cables and accessories. The contrasting black with the dramatic red makes the headphones “pop out.”

Overall the style and design of the headphones are superb with good audio performance. They’re a perfect match for a fashion forward person who can really eat up the bass.
