Kajeet Sanyo PLS-2700

Sanyo PLS-2700
From Kajeet

Times are changing and children are
growing up faster than ever in this technology driven world. Children have the
right to freedom and privacy, but that doesn’t mean they don’t require
limitations and guidelines to follow. I never understood why kids under the age
of 12 needed phones, other than for explicit emergencies or to be picked up
from soccer practice. But there is definitely something that you cannot ignore,
children are texting, surfing the web, and taking full advantage of a cell
phone features at younger ages than ever. Parents shouldn’t have to worry what
their child is doing on their phone and should rest assured knowing that a cell
phone is beneficial and not detrimental. What both children and parents needs
alike is a phone specifically designed for kids, with parents in mind, and the
Sanyo 2700 is exactly that.

            Bottom
line, first thing kids look for on a phone is where or not it’s stylish,
everything else is just an added feature. The Sanyo 2700 has a nice 2.2” QVGA
display complemented with a great keyboard layout and standard functioning
buttons. Based on the outward appearance you wouldn’t think this to be a phone
designed for kids, with a nice shade of blue and thin structure. The phone also
comes in pink, presumably for a girl. The phone is also equipped with a
standard 1.3 megapixel camera for taking great pictures, only drawback, it
doesn’t capture video. The phone also has email/messaging features, whether or
not you want you children using them, is completely up to you.

            The Sanyo
2700 also has an available 16MB of an internal memory and equipped with a
lithium ion battery, promising a good battery life. The phone also comes
standard with many tools; planner, world clock, calculator, alarm clock, and
voice memo pad. More notable features include the GPS Phone Locator with the
first month free and then $9.99 for the following months. The GPS Phone Locator
worked well and was surprised by the accuracy of the unit. However, there are
still many parental features that are completely free. Parents can put
restrictions on the phones including who they can talk or text as well as what
time of the day it can be in use. There are exceptions to this rule for
emergency contacts. Parents can also make place a budget on the phone for
amount of money to be spent on games and the internet, to make sure an absurd
bill isn’t racked up. There is also a great feature that can easily block all
texts and calls from specific contacts, and only be accessed via a password.

            I never had
much of a liking for prepaid phones, always trying to scam another dollar out
of you through hidden fees and start up costs. The Kajeet Sanyo 2700 isn’t like
that. Bills are straight forward and easy to understand, simply refill your
minutes to be used for talk time and/or messaging. This can be done directly
off your debit or credit card or even off PayPal. You can also give the user an
allowance, as stated previously, allocated for extra features. There are also
service plans available for unlimited text messaging starting at $14.99 to save
you a little money. Overall, the Kajeet Sanyo 2700 is a great phone for a
better price, and if the model does not meet your expectations check out some
of the other great models.
