Great Danes Continue Fall Ball at Christian Prince Memorial Tournament
NEW HAVEN, Conn. –The University at Albany men’s lacrosse team heads to New Haven, Connecticut on Sunday to play in the Christian Prince Memorial Tournament, hosted by Yale University.
The Great Danes will play a pair of scrimmages on Sunday, playing host Yale at 12:15 p.m. at Reese Stadium. Then at 2 p.m., UAlbany plays Quinnipiac to finish the event. Each game will consist of four 20-minute quarters.
The tournament is in honor of Christian Prince, a Yale lacrosse player who was killed in 1991 at the age of 19. The 2013 Tournament will be the fifth annual event named in honor of Prince.
Admission for all fans is free, but donations will be accepted at the tournament to benefit the Christian Prince Scholarship Fund.
UAlbany-Yale will feature a scrimmage of two reigning conference champions. UAlbany is coming off an America East title, a 13-4 season and a trip to the NCAA Tournament, while Yale won the Ivy League title in 2013 and got to the NCAA Quarterfinals. Quinnipiac went 6-8 last season with 10 of its 14 games decided by one or two goals.
