In time for the holiday season is the Franklin electronic Holy
Bible is a compact collection of both the New and Old Testament for each of the
versions of the Bible. It combines the power of new age technology with the
revered antiquity of God’s word. It’s easy to access all the features of the
device including the organizer to store names and numbers, calculator, and even
a world clock, and unit converters. I was surprised to see that it could hold a
number of contacts and all the extra features. It was also pleasant to see that
the Bible reference search was not only broken down by book or chapter to find
the passages, but also by verse. This saved a considerable amount of time,
especially for someone who is not already well versed in the Bible.
The
included Holman Dictionary proved to be essential with very clear and accurate
definitions that leave you without question. I could use the dictionary while I
was reading either the KJV or NIV Bible to do a “quick look up” of a word. In
addition, the design of the electronic Bible I found to be especially
beneficial. It was small enough to be pocket size but large enough to have a
good size screen with a large print keypad. I didn’t have to strain my eyes
looking at the text, and the backlit screen made it possible to read while in
bed. The only drawback that I found with my particular model was that the keys
were a little stubborn. I had to break them in a little before they were fully
functional.
Overall, Franklin is a brand of quality and has been so in
electronics for a number of years. The Franklin BIB-1450 Holy Bible has proven
to be no exception to the tradition.
