ALBANY, N.Y..- The University at Albany men’s soccer team (3-9-3, 1-2-1 AE) hosts New Hampshire this Saturday in an important America East match up at 7 p.m. The Great Danes will also welcome back their alumni for the tilt against the Wildcats.

The Great Danes sit in a three-way tie for fourth place with Hartford and Stony Brook in the America East standings. UAlbany will meet the Hawks at home on Nov. 2 for senior day, and nearly escaped from Stony Brook with one point in the America East opener, but fell 1-0 in overtime.

Trevor Gorman’s squad looks to get back in the win column against New Hampshire, after falling 2-0 to Syracuse on Tuesday. The Purple & Gold had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped at Vermont last weekend, falling 2-1.

Junior forward Brandon Wilson remains the leading scorer for UAlbany with four goals. Wilson scored twice last week, converting on a comeback goal against the Catamounts and scoring once in a 3-1 win over UMass Lowell.

The America East named Leonardo Rodrigues the league Rookie of the Week for his play against UMass Lowell last week. The freshman scored the game-winner against the River Hawks in his first career appearance.

SCOUTING NEW HAMPSHIRE:

The Wildcats were dethroned at the top of the standings last week by UMBC by a score of 1-0. The Retrievers lead the league at 3-0-1 with 10 points. UAlbany is the only team to escape from Baltimore with one point to its credit this season.

New Hampshire tops the league with seven goals against behind junior goalkeeper Travis Worra. Uche Ugochukwu leads the Wildcats with four goals, while Jesus Tudela has tallied nine points (3g, 3a) this season.
