UAlbany Women’s Soccer Earns NSCAA Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY – The UAlbany women’s soccer team has earned a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year.
The award is given to a collegiate soccer team that posted a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during an academic year, rewarding teams for outstanding performance in the classroom. UAlbany posted a 3.01 GPA during the season.
This is the fourth consecutive year that UAlbany has earned this academic honor, dating back to the 2009-10 season.
UAlbany is one of six women’s teams in the America East to get the NSCAA Team Academic Award, along with Binghamton, Maine, New Hampshire, Stony Brook and Vermont.
The young Great Danes finished the 2013 season with a victory over UMass Lowell, concluding the year at 2-14-1 under first-year head coach Caitlin Colfer.
