Shereesha Richards Named Co-ECAC DI Metro/Upstate Player of the Week
ECAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week (1/14/14)
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Shereesha Richards continues to rack up hardware, earning the Eastern College Athletic Conference Co-Division I Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Richards, who earned America East Player of the Week this past period, earns her second ECAC weekly honor of the season. She earns this honor the first time on December 10th after her 32-point performance against Dartmouth.
The ECAC encompasses 88 Division I schools on the East Coast from Virginia to Maine, including major conference and mid-major programs. The University at Albany is in the ECAC’s Metro/Upstate region.
The sophomore forward averaged 32 points this week in a pair of conference wins, including a program record 41 points against Vermont. That mark plus 18 rebounds in the win over Hartford are each the best tally in a game with an America East team.
Richards shared honors in the region with Joy Adams of Iona College.
