Who was it that said waking up was never enjoyable? Imagine
waking up to your personal assistant-who not only memorized your
schedule but also your favorite radio station and which days to leave
you alone. Measuring a mere 5″ by 5″, the American Innovative
Neverlate 7-day Alarm Clock is my closest bedtime buddy. “He” knows
which days of the week I like to be woken at 7:30am and when I
enjoy a longer nights sleep. In other words, the alarm allows
programming of a seven day work (or sleep) week. Each day with is
easily programmed to have a unique time and setting.The Neverlate alarm
clock also has handy “nap” and “sleep”
functions. The “nap” feature allows you to allot a period of time
before the alarm sounds, without interrupting your scheduled alarms for
the day/week. The “sleep” function is great for those of us who enjoy
listening to music as they sleep. Pressing the “sleep” button allows
you to select a period of time. When the time runs out and “you”
hopefully asleep, the radio will automatically turn itself off.

My first look at the device brought a sense of fear. As shown
in the picture, it has four dials as well as five buttons. Setting this
thing to work would surely be a nightmare. In reality, the device
should not have shipped with a Manuel. Without reading the included
manual, after a few minutes of playing around with the device, I had
programmed my entire work week and sleep-weekends. User friendliness
was obviously on the mind of American Innovative designers’ mind while
building the Neverlate alarm clock.

Overall, I love the simple yet effective user interface. I
have to never again remember to set my alarm clock for the proper time
on the proper days. It it not only an excellent time piece but an important part of my daily routine for the past few months. Fortunately for me I have had the luxury of falling asleep knowing that
when I wake up my assistant will be there waiting.
