Shereesha Richards Earns Third ECAC DI Metro/Upstate Player of the Week Honor

CENTREVILLE, Mass. – For the second week in a row and third time this season, Shereesha Richards was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I Metro/Upstate Player of the Week for the period ending January 19th.
Richards, who earned her eighth America East Player of the Week last period, has been named the ECAC DI Metro/Upstate Player of the Week three out of six chances.
The ECAC encompasses 88 Division I schools on the East Coast from Virginia to Maine, including major conference and mid-major programs. The University at Albany is in the ECAC’s Metro/Upstate region.
The sophomore forward earned a pair of double-doubles in America East victories, setting a new UAlbany record for double-doubles with 11, a record she surpassed in the next game. She averaged 21 points and 10.5 rebounds in the two contests, helping keep UAlbany undefeated in America East play.
The Great Danes will next play on Tuesday, January 28th at 7 p.m., hosting UMBC at SEFCU Arena.
