UAlbany WBB Rises to #4 in Mid-Major Poll, Matching Highest Ranking Ever
College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top-25
ALBANY, N.Y. – The America East champion UAlbany women’s basketball team has gone up a spot to #4 in the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25, matching its highest-ever ranking in the poll.
UAlbany was ranked the #4 mid-major in the country back in mid-December after starting the season 8-0. In addition, UAlbany remains in the top-10 in the mid-major poll for the 16th-consecutive week.
The Great Danes has not had a game the last seven days after defeating Stony Brook to win its third-consecutive America East title. They will enter the NCAA Tournament as a 15-seed after going 28-4 this season.
UAlbany remains the top-ranked mid-major team in the state of New York and lone America East squad in the top-25, getting 633 points.
Staying at #1 in the poll is Gonzaga with 754 points off 28 first-place votes, with UT-Chattanooga at #2. UAlbany is ranked second among mid-majors on the East Coast, only to #3 James Madison.
The Great Danes will take on West Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, March 23rd in Louisiana.
