Choi Leads Women’s Golf In First Round Of Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate

ROUND ONE RESULTS

MORGANTON, N.C. – The University at Albany women’s golf team sits in ninth place out of 13 competing teams after the first round of the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate in Morganton, N.C. As a team, the Great Danes shot a 337 (+49) on the day led by junior Victoria Choi’s 80 (+8).

Individually, Choi is currently tied for 12th place out of 78 total golfers. Freshmen Rosalee Hearns (T23) and Paige Fujihara (T28) follow closely behind, shooting an 82 and 83, respectively. Graduate student Sam Schuffenecker contributed a 92 and senior Lisa Agoglia finished with a 94.

High Point (313) leads all teams by eight strokes, while Western Carolina (321), Gardener-Webb (322), Bethune Cookman (323), Winthrop (325), Wofford (330), Towson (333), Presbyterian (336), UAlbany (337), and Appalachian State (338) are battling side-by-side in the middle of the field, heading into day two.

The tournament will conclude on Monday with a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start.
