Women’s Golf Places 10th At Brown Invitational

RESULTS

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University at Albany women’s golf team placed 10th out of 13 teams in the Fifth Annual Brown Invitational, played Sunday and Monday at Metacomet Country Club in East Providence, R.I. The Great Danes shot a collective 697 (347-350) on the par-71 course.

Sam Schuffenecker led UAlbany with a 173, shooting an 88 in round one and an 85 in round two. She tied for 37th in a field of 72 athletes. Victoria Choi finished one shot behind with a 174 (86-88). Lisa Agoglia (86-90) and Paige Fujihara (87-90) shot a 176 and 177, respectively, while Rosalee Hearns rounded out the competing Great Danes with a 184 (97-87).

With a 628, Harvard took the team title, finishing 20 strokes ahead of second place Boston University (648). Harvard was led by individual winner Tiffany Lin’s 152 (73-79). Farleigh Dickinson (658), the hosting Brown Bears (659), and LIU Brooklyn (666) rounded out the top five teams.

The Great Danes finished ahead of Hartford (704), Wagner (716), and Holy Cross (811).

UAlbany wraps up the 2014 spring season at the MAAC Championships in Orlando, Fla. April 25-27th.
