Bowen Places Seventh In Mexico

MEXICO CITY – Two weeks after placing sixth in the Ibero-American Championships in Brazil, University at Albany high jumper Alexander Bowen once again jumped for Panama’s National Team, placing seventh at the 2014 Pan American Festival in Mexico over the weekend.  Bowen cleared a height of 6’-10.75”.

American Nick Ross won the event, clearing 7’-5”.  Jamal Wilson from the Bahamas placed second, also clearing 7’-5”.  Mexico’s Edgar Rivera placed third, clearing 7’-3.25”.  The men’s high jump fielded ten competitors.

Bowen has two more competitions for Panama before he once again competes for UAlbany.  First, Bowen will travel to Argentina to compete in the U-23 South American Championships in October.  Six weeks later, Bowen will return to Mexico to compete in the Central American and Caribbean Games.  UAlbany’s season kicks off in earnest in January.
