A Step Up Athletic Symposium
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson will be speaking at the prestigious “A Step Up 2014,” an assistant coaches professional development symposium in Florida.
She will be speaking on Sunday, May 4th at 8:30 a.m. to 60 assistant coaches from around the country at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. This is the first time the three-time America East Coach of the Year and three-time conference champion at the University at Albany will be speaking at this symposium.
“I like to be a teacher and empower people,” said Abrahamson-Henderson. “If I can help one person, it is worth it.”
“A Step Up” was created by Felicia Hall-Allen, who runs a sports management company. She earned a law degree at the University of Iowa and was a college teammate of Abrahamson-Henderson, both playing under Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Springer.
The symposium will run from May 2-4 and will include an on-court skills development clinic and professional development classroom sessions. It was created to help assistant coaches network and learn new skills from others like them.
