All it took was a sawmill, a question, and some perseverance
for James Dyson to revolutionize the vacuum market. The question being, can the
application of existing technologies such as balls in place of the wheels,
cyclone mechanics originating from the sawmill, and a slew of other developed
technologies make a line of vacuums that take the frustration out of cleaning?
Yes, Dyson has taken vacuum cleaners to new heights and pride themselves in
these innovative ideas and the purpose behind them.
Going off looks alone the DC23 Turbinehead blows away the
competition. Putting this side by side with your old vacuum cleaner makes you
wonder why you bothered with that one. Every button, wheel, and facet is larger
than life yet the weight and mobility is surprisingly light and effortless.
Although this particular model doesn’t use their ball technology, the two large
wheels more than accommodates for any carpet height and style. The retractable
cord with corresponding button makes the dreaded clean up a breeze and is
stored in the housing. The only drawback being that the cord could potentially
become wrapped up, luckily haven’t experienced this problem yet. Likewise, the
extension tube collapses into itself with the handle attached for spot
cleanups. The snap connector on the handle allows for tools and tubes to be
attached. The carpet cleaning tool with a clear cover is perfect for cleanup
jobs on both the carpet and hardwood. It takes some tinkering to find out
everything this vacuum has to offer and can be fully modified to change the
cleaning purpose.
The canister is the bulk of the visible vacuum cleaner with
a transparent housing and an easy snap in and out feature. This uses the Root
Cyclone technology to collect the dirt and debris from the air, while expelling
clean air. Likewise, the canister feature gives you the freedom from replacement
bags and also guarantees no loss of suction. The filters can also be manually
cleaned so the purchase of any additional supplies shouldn’t be needed. Another
great feature of the housing design is the stair support so now you won’t have
to muscle down the stairs, going up the stairs is another story.
Fortunately, the design of the DC23 is well suited with the
performance. Switching between the different floor styles is a little tiresome
when going from room to room, but this model still outperforms when it comes to
clean up. You will be surprised the amount of dust, dirt, and debris picked up
and collected in the canister, letting you to believe that you have been living
in filth for much of your life. I was pleased with the suction power of the
vacuum, there is nothing worse than going back over the area you just vacuumed,
and luckily it was a clean sweep. It also maintained great suction when using
the attachment tools where in most situations would falter. Another surprising attribute
was the noise, it was considerably quieter than any vacuum I had ever
previously used and didn’t seem to bother the pets.
Hands down the Dyson DC23 Turbinehead is a great vacuum and
outshines in all areas. If you are looking to invest in a vacuum that will last
years to come, check the DC23 out or similar Dyson models.
