Eight-Goal Week Earns Phelan America East Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week Honors

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – University at Albany women’s lacrosse senior midfielder Allie Phelan was named the America East Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Phelan totaled 10 points last week, including five goals at No. 3/3 Syracuse.

The senior matched her single-game career high in goals against the Orange with five in a 13-11 loss. In the process she also became the only player to score five goals against Syracuse this season. Phelan converted on all five shots she took at the Carrier Dome last Tuesday.

The midfielder contributed three goals and two assists in No 18/17 UAlbany’s 15-7 win at Vermont to extend the Great Danes to 2-0 in conference play.

Phelan has now scored 13 goals in three games, dating back to a five-goal performance against Binghamton on March 29. She leads the league with 5.50 points per game against conference opponents.
