Lopez, Scott, Torres Compete in USTA/ITA Regional Championships
CAMBRIDGE, MASS. – The University at Albany women’s tennis team traveled to Cambridge this past weekend for the USTA/ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Harvard.
Freshman Paulina Torres competed in the singles draw, facing No. 17 seed Taylor Ng of Dartmouth. Torres was defeated 6-1, 6-1 by the fellow freshman from the Big Green. Ng advanced to the final singles draw after defeating Princeton’s Wolff in three sets and Sanon of Columbia over the weekend.
UAlbany’s top doubles combo Rocio Lopez and Kirsten Scott fell to Brown’s No. 5-seeded doubles squad of Hannah Camhi and Dayna Lord 8-2. Camhi and Lord will continue in the main doubles draw on Monday and Tuesday.
The Great Danes will wrap up the fall season next weekend at the NJIT Invitational.
