PERRY, N.Y. – The three members of the top attack corps in the country, Lyle Thompson, Miles Thompson and Ty Thompson, have earned All-America status by the United States Intercollegiate Coaches Association (USILA), announced on Thursday.

Lyle Thompson and Miles Thompson, each Tewaaraton finalists, earned First Team All-America honors, with Ty Thompson being selected as Honorable Mention All-America.

All three earn All-America honors for the second-year running, with Lyle Thompson being First Team All-America for the second-consecutive year and Miles Thompson and Ty Thompson each being Honorable Mention All-Americans in 2013.

As an attack unit that started all 18 games this season, the three combined for 300 points this year, more than 53 of the 67 teams total in Division I.  The corps led UAlbany to a second-consecutive America East championship, an NCAA Tournament win over Loyola and a berth in the NCAA quarterfinals.

Lyle Thompson earned the top single season point total in DI history this year with 128 off 51 goals and 77 assists, the latter tying the DI record for assists in a season.  He earned at least four points in each UAlbany game this year, adding 48 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers.  The America East Player of the Year earned at least seven points in 11 games this year.

Miles Thompson earned the second-highest single season point total in DI history this season, getting 82 goals, tying the top mark in a single season in DI, and 37 assists for 119 points, adding 31 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.  The All-America East First Team attack earned at least four points in 17 of 18 games this season.

Ty Thompson earned points in every UAlbany game this year, tallying 41 goals and 12 assists, adding 19 ground balls.  He added six man-up goals, second on the team in that category.  The All-America East Second Team attack earned five goals each in victories over Syracuse and UMass and four goals in the America East title victory over UMBC.
