OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – UAlbany senior attack Miles Thompson was named as a candidate for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award in men’s lacrosse, the organization announced on Thursday.
The Senior CLASS Award, where CLASS stands for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, is a program run by Premier Sports Management to celebrate accomplishments of NCAA seniors in areas of community, classroom, character and competition.
Miles Thompson is one of 20 candidates selected for the 2014 Senior CLASS Award. He is the only player from the America East and just one of three players who play collegiate lacrosse in the state of New York to be named a candidate.
During the regular season, the candidate list will go from 20 to 10 finalists, with those 10 being place on an official ballot. The official ballot will be voted on by fans, media and coaches to select the top player who, according to the CLASS Award, “best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.” The Senior CLASS Award winner is to be announced during the NCAA Championship in Baltimore on May 24-26.
