Pomare Te Anau Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week
ALBANY, N.Y.- University at Albany men’s soccer midfielder Pomare Te Anau was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Monday following a 2-0 week for the Great Danes.
Te Anau was an instrumental piece in UAlbany’s America East quarterfinal 5-1 win over Vermont on Saturday. The junior scored two goals, including the first in the 7th minute of play and the goal to make it 4-0 with 26 minutes remaining. Te Anau is now third on the team with seven points, including three assists in addition to his two goals against the Catamounts.
The Great Danes (6-10-4) travel to Baltimore for the America East semifinals to face No. 6 UMBC. The winner of that contest will face either New Hampshire or Hartford for the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
