Casio Edifice EF340SB-1A1V
Casio’s Edifice EF340SB-1A1V is great if you’re looking for a watch that is reliable and won’t stop ticking for a long time. With this watch in Casio’s Edifice line and a little sunlight, you won’t have to worry about your watch’s battery dying again.
The Edifice is solar powered so after you charge it up in the sun for about a day, it will be able to keep its charge with the light it encounters during regular use. Without light, the battery will last for about 3 months of use. Unless you stop wearing the watch for a long time and keep it in a drawer, you probably won’t find battery power to be an issue.
Its silver band and black face look stylish and will fit in great with both casual, every day use as well as when you need to dress up a little. On the face of the watch, in addition to the dial that tells you the time, there are three smaller dials for the day of the week, the date, and the time in a 24-hour scale. While I was able to gather useful information off of these, it took a few seconds of deciphering. There is also the ever present problem of the dials of the hour and minute hand occasionally covering the smaller dials.
This watch was great to use. The watch is advertised to keep time +/- 20 seconds over the course of a month, but after using it for a few weeks I didn’t notice a significant drop in accuracy. The watch is also water resistant up to 100M so there are no worries when you’re washing your hands or swimming. I also liked the low battery warning so that I would know the watch was running low and I could easily charge it up. The best part is the knowledge that I wouldn’t have to go through the hassle of replacing the battery in a year was very comforting.
