The Belkin N52TE
By Belkin
If gaming is in your blood then
the Belkin n52te will keep your vitals pumping. Gamers rejoice for the advent of
this advanced gaming pad equipped with all the bells and whistles imaginable.
The n52te proved to be a great investment with fifteen programmable keys to
suit any game, as well as a thumb pad and scroll wheel. All of the features can
be programmed using the included software and the three different keymaps. I
found the keymaps to be the best feature of the device so you are not
constantly reprogramming the keys for different games and can be toggled
through during game play. Setting up the game pad is a lot of work, with many
trials and tribulations to find the best ease of use during game play, but the
easy to use software definitely helps. You can be of any age to take advantage
of all the functions the n52te offers. The keys were incredibly responsive to
all the typing and at no time did I experience any backing up or “lagging.”
The
keys are also backlit which tends to be a necessity of most devices and the
adjustable wrist pad was surprisingly soft and comfortable, the picture doesn’t
do justice. The pad can be moved forward and backwards accordingly, to
accommodate for your finger and hand length. In addition, the thumb stick is
removable with a directional pad underneath, which I found to work better in
comparison. Overall, the n52te is a fairly sturdy device and fortunately did
not have to worry about breaking some of the smaller plastic pieces. Furthermore,
the gamepad is not wireless and is powered via a USB Port on your computer.
Word of warning, the game pad does not replace your mouse, but is an
alternative for your keyboard. The Belkin n52te was definitely made with gamers
in mind, and with a price of around 70 dollars it’s a higher end gaming pad. Fortunately,
compared to similar products on the market, the Belkin n52te has higher end
performance.
