Prestige, a word that describes a reputation for success and achievement is only suited for a pair of head phones such as these. The Grado SR-60i offers a new age sound with an “Old” look feel, incomparable to any head phones on the market for such a price. I used these with my home stereo system with a stereo jack to achieve a quality of sound that simply an MP3 player couldn’t match. The head phones have a deep bass range that compliments the rock as well as a nice treble for the classical music that comes across naturally.
The design is standard and quaint with a leather headband that for the most part is a comfortable fit, extended play caused a little irritation but nothing of major discomfort. On the other hand, the thick ear pads are soft and durable which give added comfort compared to a synthetic leather or harsher material. The SR-60i are open air or ended, meaning their not the best for quiet situations such as the library, but perfect for people like me who love blasting music. In addition, they have an over all sturdy feel and will probably last for years with the proper care.
These head phones are great for any music lover and are definitely worth noting as an inexpensive gift for Christmas, at around only 80 dollars! Few other head phones have such quality like the Grado Lab Series SR-60i, for a similar price. Grado also carries many other lines of head phones, more notably the Reference Series for their wooden air chamber.
