ALBANY, N.Y. – Still battling inclement winter weather and less than ideal field conditions heading into the start of April, the University at Albany baseball team will relocate Tuesday’s game versus Fordham University from Varsity Field to Houlihan Park in the Bronx. The start time will remain 3:30 p.m.

UAlbany (4-14, 2-4 America East) will look to snap a seven-game skid when they face the Rams of the Atlantic 10. Fordham (10-13, 3-3 A10) comes off a series win over Dayton, winning the final two games of the series by scores of 6-3 and 5-4. Batting  .245 as a team, the Rams are led at the plate by Tim Swatek (.375, 16 RBI), Ron McCunney (.306, 11 RBI), and Matthew Cianci (.300, 14 R). Defensively, Fordham is fielding .960 with a 5.32 collective earned run average.

Meanwhile, the Great Danes are led offensively by sophomore Evan Harasta (.293, 8 RBI), junior Craig Lepre (.278, 12 RBI), and senior Josh Nethaway (.271, 11 RBI), as the team owns a .220 batting average. Forced to practice indoors for a majority of the spring so far, the Great Danes’ .925 fielding percentage is a reflection of the team’s tussles with poor weather. On the mound, UAlbany brings a 6.57 ERA into the non-conference midweek clash.

The last time UAlbany met the Rams in the Bronx, the Great Danes came away with a 7-6 victory in 10 innings on March 7, 2012. UAlbany and Fordham’s meeting last season was canceled due to weather.
