UAlbany WBB Advances to #6 in Mid-Major Poll
College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25
ALBANY, N.Y. – Continuing its undefeated America East season, UAlbany has moved up to #6 in the College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Poll.
UAlbany got 534 points in the poll to earn its highest-ranking since early December, when the team was ranked #4. The team has been ranked in the top-10 for 10 consecutive weeks since November 26th.
The Great Danes helped their ranking last week with wins over UMBC, Stony Brook and Vermont. With today’s win over UMass Lowell, the team has won its past 11 games.
UAlbany is the only team in the America East that was in the top-25, with New Hampshire receiving a pair of points in the poll. Two other schools in the state of New York, Iona and Marist, are ranked in the top-10 at #8 and #10 respectively.
Gonzaga stays at #1 with 28 first-place votes and 769 points. Chattanooga is at #2 and Wichita State stands at #3.
The Great Danes next play on Friday at the SEFCU Arena, hosting Hartford at 7 p.m.
