LAS VEGAS – Facing brutal winds and cool temperatures, the University at Albany women’s golf team showed grit and determination Tuesday in the second round of the Bison Invitational in Las Vegas. After returning to the clubhouse in seventh place out of eight competing teams on Monday, the Great Danes rallied to finish fourth in the tournament hosted by Bucknell University at the Pauite Golf Resort.

UAlbany shot a combined 687 (+111) behind first-place finisher Lynn University (631/+55), Long Island University (669/+93), and Tennessee Tech (673/+97). The Great Danes overcame Eastern Washington (694/+118), Bucknell (698/+122), Creighton (706/+130), and Idaho State (724/+148).

Victoria Choi led UAlbany with a mark of 167 (82/85/+23), placing 11th overall in the field of 45. Teammate Rosalee Hearns (170) was close behind, tying for 15th-place, improving her second round score from an 88 to an 82, despite the weather conditions.
