IESW100B Inner-ear Stereo Earphone with Microphone

Who would have thought that a pair of wooden earphones could supply a sound quality comparable to higher end IEs with a level of comfort unlike most. The Woodees IESW100Bs are a prime example of paying less for more. Do not be deterred by the low price, the Woodees are equipped with an in-line microphone to control both music and calls. Likewise, these are not limited to only a select number of phones but any phone equipped with a 3.5mm jack, such as Blackberries and iPhones.
My initial skepticism was the wooden housing. Although $40.00 isn’t what I would consider an investment for a quality pair of inner ear phones, I would still like to see them last. Luckily both the housing and ear bud assembly are lightweight and solid. Although the ear phones are not equipped with noise isolating technology, the inner ear design along with the 4x pairs of silicone buds offers a custom tight fit to block out ambient noise. On the other hand, the cable which is made of a soft rubber, did not seem to be too strong. Although for the most part they didn’t tangle, I felt as if the cable would snap with any unwarranted pressure or strain.
The sound quality was great but a lacking in bass, especially for a pair of IEs that are advertised with a “Deep bass sound.” Although the bass was a bit hollow the treble was both rich and full. All around I was impressed with the quality, especially on the instrumentals. Likewise, these Woodees pack some power and didn’t need to max out the volume to get the same quality.
Overall, the Woodees IESW100B is a great pair of inner ear phones, with all the extra features you would expect from a higher end ear phone, without the exorbitant price.
